From a 19th-century drug store to a Rexall Drug Store to your trusted community pharmacy — the legacy endures.
The pharmacy's origins reach back to the late 1800s, when Lumsden and Wilson opened a drug business on Seaforth's Main Street. In 1923, James Edward Keating — a decorated WWI veteran from Madoc, Ontario — took over the store and built it into the Rexall Drug Store the community came to love. A Lions Club charter member, Legion president, and Seaforth's Mayor in 1949–50, J.E. Keating gave as much to the town as to his patients. His daughter Merle continued the family tradition from 1957 onward.
